AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING

I have been regularly translating in many different areas of the automotive sector since 1999. The range of projects handled have been many and varied, ranging from 100 words to 250,000 words. My initial experience of this subject area and also my introduction to world of translation was when I worked as a project manager and team leader for a translation agency in South Germany managing the translation and publication of a large-volume quality management project for BMW, based in South Germany, which also included hands-on translation work.

Since then I have worked as a freelance translator on a wide range of automotive projects ranging from training documents, software specifications, parts production, tyre fitting machines through to motorcycle accessories and electric/hybrid vehicles.

I also translated the subtitles to the road movie "Dekker the Trucker", a journey from Hamburg to Casablanca.

I was admitted to the ITI as fully qualified member in 2006 via the exam route on the topic of automotive engineering.
